History Of Dubai
United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) formed on 2nd December 1971, when six of the seven Emirates joined together. These Emirates were Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Abu Dhabi and Umm-Al-Quwain. Ras-al-Khaima became the seventh Emirate and the last in 1972, making it the beginning of an amazing journey.
Burj Al Arab or Tower of the Arab is the one and only 7-star hotel in the world. It stands on a man-made island next to the Jumeirah beach with a staggering height of 312 m. This iconic structure symbolizes a sailboat. The main purpose of developing a 7-star hotel was to attract tourists and make the city more well known.
The Dubai Mall
Dubai Mall is one of the largest malls in the world with an area of 1,124,000 square meters! It occupies the vast area with 1200 retail outlets, 14,400 parking spaces and 120 restaurants. Dubai Mall was originally expected to welcome its first visitors in 2006 but due to the unfortunate construction delay twice, the mall finally opened in 2008 welcoming 30 million visitors. The peak year was 2015 with a total number of 92 million visitors.
